Breeze Social Media

Talk 1300 AM Breeze SEO President Anthony Troia Podcast

Tuesday, May 11, 2010 @ 11:05 AM

Listen to the podcast

This week Anthony Troia, President of BreezeSEO was a guest on my radio show, Red Hot Customer Service. Breeze SEO,  provides search engine optimization as well as Web Development, Web Hosting, Blog Creation, M-commerce and ties it altogether with Social Media.

“If a company’s web site is to perform optimally , says Troia, it just can’t depend on SEO. Everything is tied together,  consumers are using blogs, social media as well as web sites to get information.  If you don’t have all the pieces and fit them together  it’s like owning a car and having one flat tire. You might get where you’re going but it will be slow and less efficient. The web is forever changing and a company’s site must be forever ready for these changes.”

We reviewed the stages of web development, pretty much one, two and three. One being the basic web site, which operated on a key word search and a passive connection to the site. The web site told the story and the customer listened.  The web 2.0 is associated  with applications that facilitate information sharing, collaboration  and interactions between users. Rather than a passive connection to the site, 2.0 allows users to interact with each other and contribute to the conversation. Anthony interjected a new era of the web 3.0 which is not built on key words but is semantic search based.

“Semantic search,  according to Troia, It is the idea of having data on the Web defined and linked in a way that it can be used for more effective discovery, automation, integration, and reuse across various applications. It’s connected to people, places and things and brings them altogether. It started with social networking and now people want to be connected everywhere, outside their homes with their mobile phones. Companies will grow by constantly adapting to these new changes.” Troia shared information about foursquare.com and how it works.
According to the National Retail Council meeting on January 10, 2010, M-Commerce as well as Social Networking were two of their top three priorities.

With so many companies out there how do you know who to hire? Troia gives us some solid advice:
Ask lots of questions. Does the company understand social media, m-commerce and semantic search based technology. This is the present future.

Check references thoroughly, there isn’t any magic formula, find out who they’ve work with and check on the results.
Be able to thoroughly explain your business model to the SEO team. No one knows your model better than you but a good SEO team will also research your business. You might get 100 calls a day but it might not be from the right customers.
