Google does not use keywords meta tag in search results

Google’s use of keyword meta tag’s in search results

Below is a video by Matt Cutts a Google Software Engineer talking about keywords in the search results.

There is a lot of hype on the internet about weather Google is using keyword meta tags in their search results and the answer is no. Many of our clients are so focused on keywords and forget the power of relevant content on their pages. Although a proper search engine optimization program is keyword driven they are not necessarily used in the keyword meta tags.

The first step is to gather as much information about the company as possible to understand their goals. We use what is called a business analysis document to develop an online marketing business plan. Once all of the pertinent data is collected we then conduct keyword research. This keyword data is compiled and used to procure relevant content, titles, descriptions, and url’s among other variables that affect a sites ranking in the search engines.

Today more than ever there are so many other ways that Google determines the placement of pages in their search results. A great example of this is the use of Google Maps business listings. Once your business is claimed and optimized correctly it opens up an entirely new market place and traffic source for your business.

Breeze SEO is dedicated to it’s clients and affiliates for providing the most up to date information in digital marketing.

Anthony Troia – Success for Small Businesses in 2009

Tuesday, January 13, 2009 @ 09:01 PM

Part 1

Success for small businesses in 2009 is turning out to be a daunting task. Most companies are in survival mode trying to stay afloat and weathering the storm so to speak. Anthony Troia 35 of Carmel, New York Founder of Breeze SEO search engine experts says “companies are watching every penny and this is where we provide value to business owners”. Anthony a leader in search engine optimization and is considered a subject matter expert on the topic. He has helped some on the largest companies in the world achieve success now ranking on the top of Google, Yahoo and MSN. Breeze has clients on a global scale and is changing the way companies conduct business on the net. Breeze also plans on going public (future Nasdaq symbol BREZE) sometime in the fourth of quarter 2012.

This is extremely critical in today’s market place where 71% of consumers go online first to research products and services and if your company is not on the first page of the major search engines you’re virtually invisible. Consumers today are extremely savvy and know exactly what they are looking for and if that information is not served to them quickly they lose interest and move on.

The first step is to know the difference between PPC (Pay per Click) offered through Google, Yahoo and MSN and Organic Search Engine Optimization. When you conduct a search within the search engines you see ads that appear on the top and on the right hand side or the page that’s Pay per Click. We conducted a survey with our clients a surprisingly 88.2% of them say that they do not click on these ads because they feel the companies in those links are not credible and the links will often redirect them to other sites that are not relevant. Studies also show that 25% of your monthly media spend on PPC goes towards click fraud. Click fraud is when your links that you pay for are being clicked on by people that are not potential customers but others who are trying to create income on your behalf.

Search engine optimization is correctly programming your site to be as revenant as possible for the search engines. That’s right it is no mistake that your competitors are on the first page and you’re not. There are many variables that can affect your sites rankings and unless these variables are adjusted your site will stay behind in the rankings. The organic search results show up in the middle of the page directly in front of the user. Being in the number one through five positions is the key staying above the fold on the bottom of the page. Once you drop below the fold you loose approximately 70% of your traffic.

In order to implement a responsive search program thorough research is needed. We conduct an in-depth analysis on your goals as a company which helps us identify your strengths and weaknesses. A business analysis document is used along with a conference call to help with the process. Once this process is complete we start our keyword research. Keyword research is a key component to our process. Breeze taps into a global keyword database to find out what potential customers are actually typing in to find your products or services. Once the data is retrieved we create a report that includes keywords, monthly volume and advertiser competition. This process saves our clients so much time and money because there is no guess work. Before we implement an SEO program we understand the mentality of the consumer.
